Giving

A short guide to our attitude to individual giving in the church and to the peoples & organisations that we as King's Gate Church give to.

Personal giving: We believe our personal giving is very much a part of our worship. There is no complusion on anyone to give at King's Gate Church, especially visitors who we would ask to give only if they feel led by the Lord. As a church, the Lord has spoken to us about how He loves a cheerful giver and so we strive to love the Lord with all our heart, mind, soul, strength and with the first fruits of all that we have.

To tithe or not to tithe, is that the Question? There are many who feel strongly about this issue and we have a number of excellent studies on the subject of giving. We understand those arguments on both sides of the discussion and put no obligation on anyone to tithe or not. We simply encourage people that it is a good discipline to give regularly, prayerfully, generously and cheerfully as we believe that is what God is looking for.

As a church we too give as the Lord directs us. This is primarily towards mission work (& workers) both at home and abroad. We also give to various local community organisations particularly those who work with the vulnerable and marginalised.

Gift aid: If you are a taxpayer, we can currently claim back from the Government 28p for every £1 you give, at no extra cost to you. This can be a suprisingly large amount when all is accumulated so please consider filling in a form and helping us in this way. For more information please contact Maggie on her home number.
