Sunday Meetings

The when, where and what of sunday morning and evening meetings at The King's Gate Church

Sunday Morning Meetings

When: Every Sunday morning from 10:30am to 12:15pm.

Where: Rowland Rank Centre, Aldwick Road. Click here for directions and a printable map.

What: Around 70 people (55 adults, 15 young people and children) meeting for lively worship, relevant Bible studies, to pray for one another and fellowship together. We start most meetings with about 30-40 minutes of Spirit-led praise and worship accompanied by our musicians. Then, whilst the children and young people go out to their groups, we spend some time studying the Word. We have been blessed with a number of excellent Bible teachers who can draw out the deep things of God whilst making them practical and applicable.

Not all our meetings follow the same pattern. We try to move with the leading of the Spirit and so there are times when we feel it right to pray for the people in the church, for those going abroad on mission work or to do something completely different! We also have body ministry meetings once a month and approximately every three months we have a joint meeting with a number of the other churches in Bognor. For more on these meetings click here or use the menu to the left of the screen.

Sunday Evening Meetings

When: On the second and last Sundays of every month from 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Where: Often at the Beehive, 31 Williams Street, although it is always wise to check our Coming Events page for the most up-to-date details.

What: The evening meetings provide an opportunity for us to come together in a more intimate atmosphere to worship, pray, and wait on the Lord to speak. While not everyone is able to make the evening meetings, the smaller size often means that there is a greater scope for those present to be able to minister and to be ministered to.

The second Sunday in the month is usually a 'Father's Heart' meeting, where we typically start by spending some time in worship followed by a short Bible study. Approximately, once every couple of months we also take communion together.

The last Sunday in the month is often a 'Harp and Bowl' meeting led by Andy and Leah. Many churches may do 'Harp and Bowl' differently but for us we simply some time worshipping the Lord and looking to sing out, by the leading of the Spirit, from the Word. Ultimately, this may lead to prayer about a range of topics but as much as possible we aim to have the Spirit direct the meetings.

Body Ministry: On the first Sunday of every month we have a 'body ministry', or 'open ministry' meeting where we praise, worship and wait on the Lord to see what He is saying to us as a body through His Spirit. While there is usually worship, prayer, prophecies and sharing from the Bible, the meeting is not front-led and we don't have a 'speaker'. We simply come to minister to the Lord and to share as the Spirit leads us.

Meet the Father: This is our youth church for 11-18 year olds on the first Sunday of every month. For this, the young people are separate for a whole meeting geared towards them. In this meeting we worship together, pray together and have discussions or talks all aimed at the youth and where they are in their walk with God. We actively encourage the young people to be involved with the running of Meet the Father.

Joint Churches: approximately every three months a number of the local churches (including Bognor Vineyard, Open Gate, CoC, Bognor Revelation and ourselves) meet to worship together. The times and location vary so contact us if you would like to know the venue/dates of the next meeting. When any dates are confirmed they should appear in our Coming Events page.
