About Us

What We Believe

A short outline of our beliefs about a number of fundamental areas, from the person of God, to the scriptures to the purpose and nature of the Church.

The Scriptures.

We believe that "all scripture is given by the inspiration of God" as the authors "were moved by the Holy Spirit". We believe, therefore, that the Bible in its original manuscripts is without error and that it is, therefore, the supreme authority for both life and conduct.

The Godhead.

We believe in the unity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in the Godhead; that these three are one God, having precisely the same nature, attributes and perfections and worthy of the same worship and honour.

The Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe that, as provided and purposed by God and as pre-announced by the Old Testament prophets, the eternal Son of God came into this world that He might manifest God to men, fulfil prophecy, and become the Redeemer of a lost world. To this end He was born of a virgin, received a human body and a sinless human nature, and remained sinless throughout His life. He retained His absolute deity, being at the same time God and man. We believe that in His love for lost humanity He voluntarily gave His life as a sacrifice for sin, and took away the sin of the world by bearing the penalty which the righteousness of God demanded.

We believe that He rose from the dead in the same body, though glorified, in which He had lived and died.

We believe that on departing from the earth He was accepted by His Father into the heavens where He remains at the right hand of His Father.

Salvation Only Through Christ.

We believe that no one can enter the Kingdom of God, and be free from the guilt, penalty and power of sin by his own life or works, but only through the substitutionary work of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Work of the Holy Spirit.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Third person of the Trinity, Who dwells in every believer, and by Whose work, the finished work of Christ is made effective in the lives of every believer and by Whom they are united to Christ in one body.

The Church.

We believe that all who are united to the risen and ascended Son of God are members of the One, Holy, Universal Church, which is the Body and Bride of Christ.

The Second Coming of Christ.

We believe in the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ - that He will appear in person on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory.

The Eternal State

We believe that at death the spirits and souls of those who have trusted the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation pass immediately into His presence and there remain in conscious bliss until the resurrection of the glorified body when Christ comes for His own, whereupon soul and body reunited shall be associated with Him forever in glory.
